Dear SNACC Newsletter Readers,
I hope that you have all had a successful start to the new year. With the start of the year, there are some changes to the SNACC Newsletter that are worth noting. First, we have adjusted our triannual submission and publication dates to avoid conflicts with the busy winter holiday period. Guidelines for submissions can always be found on the SNACC Newsletter webpage. The relevant dates for each issue are:
Spring Issue
February 15 – Submission Deadline
Published March15
Summer Issue
July 15 – Submission Deadline
Published August 15
Winter Issue
November 15 – Submission Deadline
Published December 15
Second, we welcome Affinity Strategies as SNACC’s new management partner and look forward to working with the team.
As this is the first issue of 2026, I would like to take the opportunity to thank each member of the SNACC Newsletter team for their contributions. Our Editors, Drs. Anne Twardowsky Di Donato, Arun George, Kristof Nijs and Jayanth Seshan, liaise with committee leads and ensure that all submitted articles are ready for publication. Our translators, Drs. Ruquan Han, Anne Twardowsky Di Donato, and Fiorda-Diaz, allow us to share key articles with international readers in Chinese, Portuguese and Spanish. Finally, I would like to sincerely thank our committees for their excellent submissions, and all SNACC members for their readership.
As always, this issue of the Newsletter offers excellent educational content, including an EEG Signature(s) article, a Medically Challenging Case, and highlights from April’s issue of the Journal of Neurosurgical Anesthesiology. We also provide updates from various committees, including updates from the ICPNT on recently accredited programs and fellowship activities.
We continue to feature international members and affiliated organizations as part of SNACC’s global focus. In this issue, I interview Dr. Lakshmikumar Venkat Raghavan, Professor and Neuroanesthesia Clinical Lead at University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Geraldine Jose provides an overview of the 2027 Asian Society for Neuroanaesthesia & Critical Care (ASNACC) meeting, which will take place in Kuching, Malaysia.
Happy reading,
Adele Budiansky, MD FRCPC
