The stand alone 47th Annual Meeting held at the beautiful Arizona Grand Resort and Spa in Phoenix was a huge success. The attendance exceeded expectations and programs were terrific. I truly enjoyed the well orchestrated meeting with the family-oriented atmosphere this year. Dr. Deepak Sharma succeeded Dr. Rafi Avitsian as SNACC President during the annual meeting. I strongly believe he will lead the SNACC to further success.  For those who were unable to attend the meeting, you can definitely catch a glimpse of the meeting by reading our Annual Meeting activity reports in the newsletter. Please mark your calendar for and plan to attend the 2020 48th SNACC Annual Meeting in Montreal, Quebec.

I want to thank Dr. Laurel Moore, our past Communication Committee Chair, an outstanding leader, for her enormous support for the newsletter. She was very instrumental in developing our online digital SNACC newsletter. I welcome our new assistant editor of the SNACC newsletter, Chris Fjotland, MD, who is an assistant Professor and Chief of Neuroanesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology at Rutgers University Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (RWJMS). Dr. Fjotland is a very energetic and talented young anesthesiologist. He will oversee the Member News section of the newsletter.

The editorial team and I will continue to improve the quality and outreach of the newsletter under Dr. Arnoley S. Abcejo, our new Communication Committee Chair. More effort will be put into making sure our newsletter reaches out to all members and the international community. From this winter issue of the newsletter, a short version of PDF format SNACC newsletter is created to be distributed to all members around the world. I will also send a short survey to all of you for your opinion and feedback.

As always, my heart felt gratitude goes to all authors and editorial staff who have contributed to the newsletter.  Please get involved and write your story to us; your participation is key to the success of the newsletter. The winter issue of the newsletter is very rich and diverse in content. I hope you enjoy every article of the newsletter and have a wonderful holiday season!
