SNACC is proud of its international membership and strives to affiliate with similar minded societies that promote neuroscience. We have created an affiliation proposal that we are offering to societies around the world to achieve this goal. We believe that affiliation with SNACC provides benefits and opportunities to both SNACC and the sister society. We have included the policy here in the newsletter and encourage SNACC members to share this proposal with other societies they may be affiliated or familiar with. Affiliation with SNACC is free and provides many benefits as you can see below.

SNACC Affiliation Proposal to Sister Societies
The Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC), as an international, multidisciplinary society, encourages and promotes both scientific and clinical collaborations. The Society is interested in forming affiliations with other professional societies with similar goals and missions in educational and scientific activities.

We are offering this affiliation to established societies with an interest in neuroscience, neuroanesthesia and/or neurocritical care. To be eligible, the society should meet all the following criteria:

  1. An established society with paid membership (required) and clearly defined bylaws.

  2. An annual or regularly recurring educational or research meeting.

  3. A society website (optional) and/or social media presence.

  4. The society’s mission, principals and goals should be in line with those of SNACC, to include nondiscrimination and diversity.

An affiliation with SNACC will provide the partner organization members the following benefits:

  1. One-year free SNACC membership to any affiliated society members who attend the SNACC Annual Meeting, with reciprocal benefits offered to any SNACC member attending the affiliate society’s Annual Meeting.

  2. Members of affiliated societies will also be eligible for the reduced SNACC member meeting registration rates, and SNACC members attending an affiliated society meeting will be eligible for reduced registration rates as well if offered by the affiliated society for their members.

  3. Links to the affiliated societies webpage and/or social media sites, if applicable, to include reciprocal advertising of society meetings.

Members of the affiliated society will also have unlimited access to items below:

  1. Access to the 'members only’ section of the SNACC website.

  2. Subscription to the SNACC newsletter, available in English and selected non-English translations.

  3. Access to the SNACC online bibliography, with the opportunity for affiliated society members to contribute articles to the library.

In addition, SNACC encourages members of the affiliated society to take advantage of the following:

  1. Opportunities to collaborate on scientific and/or clinical research with SNACC members.

  2. Reciprocal advertising of neuroanesthesia meetings (website, newsletter, brochures at meetings).

  3. Collaboration on educational activities.

Any societies interested in SNACC affiliation should contact Drs. Jeffrey Pasternak, SNACC President at Pasternak.Jeffrey@mayo.edu or Dr. Lauren Berkow, Chair of Membership Committee at LBerkow@anest.ufl.edu.
