SNACC Staff Team
Lee Charak, CAE, Executive Director – Lee has an association and non-profit management career spanning over three decades. She has executive leadership experience in trade associations, professional societies, and cause-based charitable organizations ranging in staff size from four to over 1,000. She has held a variety of senior management positions in medical and science-based organizations and served as a member of nonprofit association boards. Lee has leadership experience overseeing a wide range of nonprofit association responsibilities, including Board and committee development, accreditation and certification programs, member recruitment and retention, print and electronic media product creation, strategic marketing, fundraising, and organizational development. Lee has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Grand Valley State University and has pursued graduate studies at the University of Virginia. She earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2003, the highest designation administered by the American Society of Association Executives demonstrating an individual’s knowledge essential to the practice of association management.
Jason Hornick, Operations Manager – Jason is an experienced Operations Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the nonprofit and real estate industries. He is skilled in database management, event management, fundraising, account management, accounting/bookkeeping, budgets, leadership, and marketing.
Angela Essex, Membership Services Associate – Angela brings to SNACC more than 20 years of experience in the non-profit and service industry as an educator, director, and manager of operations. In past roles, Angela acquired a wealth of knowledge in continuous quality standards and accreditation practices. Angela graduated from Indiana University with degrees in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.
Liz Purvis, Communications Associate – Liz has earned a B.A. from Elon University and an M.F.A. from N.C. State University. She brings several years of editing and administration experience through her previous employment working with legal journals at the UCLA School of Law. As communications associate for SNACC, Liz creates and schedules social media and eblasts, and edits the newsletter.
