SNACC Clinical Symposium: Update in Neuroanesthesia
April 29, 2023
Hosts: Alana Flexman and John Bebawy
This virtual symposium offers the most current information and cutting-edge updates in neuroanesthesia that are pertinent to all clinical practitioners of perioperative neuroscience. This includes real-world and applicable state-of-the-art presentations, from renowned experts, on neuroanesthesia for neurologically-impaired patients, including cranial, spinal and neurovascular interventions. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™
The symposium will assist you in:
- Applying the latest understanding and best evidence-based practices regarding fluid administration and intracranial volume management or patients undergoing craniotomy
- Managing the perioperative course of patients presenting with traumatic brain injury according to the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations available
- Optimizing the pain management regimen of patients undergoing complex spine surgery, both intraoperatively and postoperatively, according to emerging solid evidence.
- Managing all aspects of perioperative care of the complex spine patient according to state-of-the-art consensus guidelines, including coagulopathy, hemostasis, transfusion and intraoperative neuromonitoring
- Gaining a practice and applicable understanding of the utility and application of real-time processed EEG monitoring in the operating room
- Applying the latest understanding and best evidence-based practices regarding the anesthetic management of carotid surgery or those patients with carotid disease.
Elect to start the day with the Pre Symposium Workshop on Crises Management in Neuroanesthesia offered by the International Council for Perioperative Neuroscience Training (ICPNT) and hosted by Shobana Rajan.
When brain code happens, one needs to take action immediately. The workshop is an excellent opportunity to interact and engage with experts in perioperative neuroscience and see how they manage the following crises effectively:
- Venous Air Embolism, Rafi Avitsian
- Loss of Neuromonitoring Signals, Jacqueline Morano
- Delayed Emergence, Ib Adedugbe
- Perioperative Seizures, Shilpa Rao
