SNACC 2024 Virtual Clinical Symposium – Update in Neuroanesthesia

Co-Chairs:  Dr. Ines Koerner, Dr. Alana Flexman, and Dr. John Bebawy

This virtual symposium offers the most current information and cutting-edge updates in neuroanesthesia that are pertinent to all clinical practitioners of perioperative neuroscience.  This includes real-world and applicable state-of-the-art presentations, from renowned experts, on neuroanesthesia for neurologically-impaired patients, including cranial, spinal and neurovascular interventions.

To access the recordings, please visit our Learning Management System.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC). The ASA is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™

The symposium will assist you in:

  • The latest practices and evidence in anesthesia for craniotomy procedures. Explore topics such as hemodynamic management, anesthetic approach variations, and optimizing postoperative pain control.
  • Gaining valuable updates on managing traumatic brain injury patients, including evidence-based practices and current guidelines. Discover practical recommendations for optimizing patient outcomes.
  • Navigating common neurologic emergencies encountered during neurosurgical procedures with a practical approach. Explore strategies for handling intraoperative seizures, malignant cerebral edema, and venous air embolism, ensuring readiness for critical situations.
  • Staying abreast of best practices in anesthesia for complex spine surgeries, covering topics such as coagulation and transfusion management, intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, and advanced pain management strategies. .
  • The latest evidence and recommendations for managing perioperative stroke, gaining valuable insights to optimize patient care.
  • Current practices and evidence-based approaches to prevent postoperative delirium through tailored anesthetic techniques. Gain practical recommendations and guidelines for minimizing delirium risk, enhancing patient outcomes.
  • Staying updated on anesthesia practices for neuro-interventional radiology procedures, including complications management and adherence to current guidelines.
