Introducing ASNACC

We are excited to announce that a global partnership between SNACC and the Asian Society for Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care (ASNACC) was formalized in 2025. ASNACC is now SNACC’s third global partner, following the Indian Society of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care and Neuro Anaesthesia & Critical Care Society (NACCS) UK.

ASNACC is an academic nonprofit medical society which was established in 2008 by the founding member countries: Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, China and Singapore. They were joined subsequently by the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar. The current membership spans eleven Asian countries and exceeds 2000 members. The objectives of ASNACC and the member countries are to: a) establish a forum of academic exchange for enhancing fellowship amongst its members; b) assist in the establishment of the Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care in Asia; c) promote research and training in Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care; d) improve Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care services in Asian countries; and e) carry out all activities that would contribute to the enhancement of Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care.

Historically, ASNACC and SNACC have worked together closely on various occasions for shared goals and ideals. The biennial congress of ASNACC were previously held in Beijing (2008), New Delhi (2011), Bali (2013), Busan (2015), Singapore (2017), Japan (2019), Philippines (2023) and Thailand (2025). Future congresses will be held in Malaysia in 2027 and China in 2029. This geographic rotation has contributed to a steady and solid foundation for academic and educational growth and an enduring friendship among the Asian countries.

ASNACC and SNACC have a collective vision of uplifting the standards of education and practices of Neurosciences in Anesthesiology and Critical Care worldwide. This collaboration will enhance mutual understanding, cooperation, networking opportunities, and educational and research engagements for both societies. Membership will benefit by remaining updated on the latest advancements and best practices in this vital and dynamic field, leading to the promotion of the highest quality of patient care, safety and outcomes.
