Welcome to 2026, the start of the 7th year of the ICPNT community. There are now 42 accredited neuroanesthesia programs world-wide. We welcome our new management team from Affinity Strategies and look forward to working together to deliver ICPNT accreditation and educational opportunities.
We would like to highlight some upcoming events for the year:
- ICPNT Executive Committee: we will have a call for nominations to join the ICPNT Executive Committee later in the year. If you are interested in this role, please do not hesitate to reach out to ICPNT or any member of the executive committee. Please look out for the call for nominations.
- ICPNT Masterclass 2026: this will be the third year of the ICPNT Masterclass in collaboration with SNACC. This will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina at the Annual Meeting. We will have a hands-on workshop as well as interactive small group learning on neuroanesthesia crisis management.
- ICPNT Webinars: this year we are increasing the number of webinars in collaboration with SNACC and the Journal of Neurosurgical Anesthesiology. Please check either the SNACC or ICPNT website for the calendar of events.
- Accreditation and Reaccreditation of Neuroanesthesiology Fellowship Programs: we continue with our bi-annual accreditation cycles. Program Directors who are interested accrediting their institution’s neuroanesthesia fellowship should contact ICPNT. We can also connect you with members of the ICPNT Executive Committee or accredited fellowship programs to discuss the experience and process in more detail.
Neuroanesthesia Program Relations (NPR) Committee
I (Ib Adedugbe) recently took on the role of NPR Chair and my goal for the year ahead is to continue to increase international engagement and foster community. To deliver on this vision, the initial focus will be the ICPNT webinars organised in collaboration with SNACC.
ICPNT Webinars
- We have increased the frequency of ICPNT webinars to monthly from quarterly, in response to feedback from both ICPNT alumni and faculty. We are also planning regional-led webinars. Going forward, there will be an opportunity for attendees to provide feedback at the end of each webinar with the ambition of achieving CME accreditation in the future.
- The ICPNT events calendar is now launched and available on both the SNACC and ICPNT websites to allow for easy planning of participation.
- We have shared a curriculum of topics with Program Directors to support and facilitate contribution from all ICPNT programs.
- We aim to have more fellow-led webinars, including fellow hosting, to provide opportunities for professional development, learning and community networking.
International Collaboration
- We plan to develop a directory of opportunities for visiting scholars/observership for fellows to experience practice at other institutions to allow them the opportunity to see procedures not done at their primary centre. Kindly contact us via email at info@ICPNT.org if your centre is able to provide this opportunity to international fellows.
FELLOW OPPORTUNITIES:
- We are looking for Fellows with an interest in social media and communications.
- We would also like to hear about your fellowship experience. If you would like to share.
If you are interested in supporting ICPNT social media or in sharing your fellowship experience, please contact ICPNT using info@ICPNT.org
We look forward to hearing from you and to seeing you at the webinars! And if you have any questions or feedback, please do not hesitate to contact us.
