ICPNT Update

It is an honour to be the new ICPNT Chair. I look forward to supporting the growth of the ICPNT community and continuing its mission in improving education and training in perioperative neuroscience. Following on from this year’s SNACC Annual Meeting, I have some ICPNT updates to share.

ICPNT Executive Committee Update

On behalf of ICPNT, we would like to express our gratitude to Dr Andrew Kofke, who is stepping down from his role as Past Chair. ICPNT’s success today reflects his expertise, vision and leadership and we are grateful for all his contributions. We also extend our thanks to Dr Shobana Rajan for her outstanding leadership as ICPNT Chair for the past two years. We look forward to her continued involvement and guidance as Past Chair.

We are pleased to welcome Dr Ib Adedugbe to the ICPNT Executive Committee as the new Chair of the Neuroanesthesia Program Relations (NPR) Committee. Dr Adedugbe is a neuroanesthesiologist at Dalhousie University, Canada. She completed her neuroanesthesiology fellowship training at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, UK and she brings her keen interest in education and clinical governance to the role.

We also congratulate Dr Chanhung Lee on her election as Vice Chair for ICPNT. Dr Lee is a Professor of Anesthesia and the Chief of Neuroanesthesiology at University of California, San Francisco, USA. She has been part of the ICPNT family for many years, she most recently provided excellent leadership as Chair of the NPR committee.

Looking ahead, there will be two Member-at-Large vacancies on the ICPNT Executive Committee in 2026. We will be inviting nominations from Program Directors of ICPNT-accredited neuroanesthesiology fellowship programs in Spring 2026. The ICPNT Executive Committee includes five Members-at-Large as well as the Chair, Vice Chair, Past Chair, Secretary and NPR Chair. The Vice Chair, who later serves as Chair and then Past Chair, is elected by the SNACC membership. All other positions are two-year terms, which can be renewed once. The SNACC Secretary-Treasurer also serves on the committee as the SNACC representative.
